Our first day was exhausting. We arrived in Johannesburg at 2 in the morning at had to get to our hostel grab some sleep, pick up out tickets and then get to the opening game by 2 in the afternoon. We were told that it could take up to 4 hours to get to the stadium because the traffic is so bad, turn out there is very little public transport, and the park and ride to the games is a joke.
After getting out of our taxi to walk the last mile or so on the motorway we got to the opening game on time.
Without a doubt, I can say it was the best atmosphere I have ever experienced at a game. With 85,000 people, the majority of which were all going nuts for Bafana Bafana, the noise was incredible. The stadium is amazing with every seat having an incredible view of the pitch.
The game was played at a good pace and the Vuvuzelas make a lot of noise, which makes a great sound.
1-1 was a fair result. Cracking first goal, which sent the whole stadium mad and resulted in a lot of high fives and hugs from all the locals.
I will post about the other games we have been to, Argentina Nigeria, Holland Denmark and the game I am seeing in a few hours, Brazil PKR, tomorrow.
